Step 1: Create an account for yourself. Go to the Microsoft teams webpage and hit the profile icon on the top of the screen.

Step 2: In the “Sign in” page that appears, press on the “Create one!” link to set up a new account.

Step 3:  “Create account” window will pop up, type your email address (preferably a work email address) and hit the “Next” button.

Step 4: Follow the instructions to create a password and enter your details on the pages that appear further.

Step 1: Open the Microsoft Teams app and tap the “Join or create a team” option at the bottom left of the Teams sidebar

Step 2: On the new screen that will pop up, click on the ‘’Create a team” button.

Step 3: Next, determine who should be a part of the Team.

  • Private: If the team should be restricted to only specific members, select Private.
  • Public: Best for teams with changing members which are open to all.

Step 4:: Once you’ve chosen the type of team you wish to create, name it.
After choosing the right team name click the “Create” button at the bottom right.

Step 5: Your team will now appear on the left bar of the team.

Step 6: Enter the names of the members you wish to add.

How to create a channel:

Now that you’ve your own team it is time to learn how to set a new channel. By default, the  Microsoft Teams will create a general channel for all team members.

To create additional channels, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Click on the three dots next to the Team you want to create a new channel in, and press the “Add channel” option.

Step 2: You can select a channel name and also add the description of the channel as well as customize the privacy settings to permit access to every member or choose only a few.

How to schedule meetings:

Step 1: Click on  “Schedule a Meeting” icon at the bottom.

Step 2: Open the “Calendar” on the left pane and press “New meeting,” button.

Step 3: Once you’ve chosen a time range in the calendar, a form will open to help you out.

Step 4: Give your meeting a suitable title and invite participants and add other details. The Scheduling Assistant will assist you to check everyone’s availability.

Step 5: Hit “Save”. An invite will automatically be sent to each participant’s Outlook inbox!
